Community Integration
Paramount Gold and Silver Corp. (whose Mexican subsidiary is Paramount Gold de México, S.A. de C.V.) started exploration in the Guazapares Mining District in October 2005. Within Paramount's work area are located various rural communities, including Temoris, Guazapares, Batosegachi, San José, and Tahonitas.
In keeping with its policy of community integration, Paramount has carried out a program of economic and other assistance, including:
- Creation of 40 jobs
- Support the community of Guazapares and San Jose with the donation of a water well facility to provide fresh water to the community
- Donation for the acquisition of computers for the regional junior high school
- Building materials for the elementary school in Guazapares
- Payment of workers for building the wall of the elementary school in San Jose
- Construction material for playground for the elementary school of Temoris
- Construction materials for building of external wall for the regional high school
- Donation for the graduation ceremonies of various schools, including the regional high school, the elementary school of San Jose, and others
- Donation to DIF, the organization for integral family development in Temoris
- Rehabilitation and maintenance of various roads in Guazapares and Batosegachi
- Construction materials for DIF, for the construction of houses for disadvantaged families
- Donation for purchase of fertilizer for the farmers of Batosegachi
- Donation for Christmas parties in Temoris and Guazaparez elementary schools
- Support with machinery for preparing sites for construction in Guazapares
- Benefits Temoris community through home rentals, office rent, mechanic services, welding, hotel services, restaurant
